Obituary

ERICKSON, Kristin Lorraine
(Templeton)
Kristin Lorraine Erickson
passed peacefully
into the presence of her
Lord and Saviour on Sunday
February 9th after a courageous
battle with cancer.
Our special redhead Kristin
was born on Feb. 24th, 1972.
She was raised in Abbotsford
by her parents Jerry & Evelyn
Templeton and became
a proud big sister to Kori &
Keri in 1973.
Family and friends meant the
world to Kristin. In her early
years she loved camping and
fishing (especially at the river!),
reading and studying,
she traveled to Japan on an
exchange program, managed
the Abby Senior boys basketball
team and eventually
got involved in drama both
at school and church. After
graduation in 1990, she received
her Bachelor of Arts
degree at SFU through UFV and
continued her studies in counselling
at TWU. On November 5th,
1994, she became the loving
wife to Shawn Erickson.
Eventually they expanded
their family with her most
proud accomplishments,
her children: Kyle, Miranda,
Braden and Connor.
She was
only weeks away from
completing her last full semester
in the Library and Information
Technology program
at UFV, when she was diagnosed
with cancer.
Kristin blogged her journey
and it wasn’t long before
family, friends and strangers
were captured by her authentic
emotions; displaying her
courage, faith, and hope, and
always leaning on God for
strength.

  2. Sorry to have missed the service . Thank you for the pictures that you are going to post. We continue to share Kristen's wonderful testimony with others here in Palm Springs. That was a beautiful obituary notice. Pray for all of the family as they process their grief in the days to come with the Lord walking right beside you.Edna

  4. I didn't know Kristen but was one of the many who followed her lovely blog. I miss her so much! I know she left a mark in the hearts of everyone she came in contact with either thru her blog or personally. She will be remembered for the beautiful legacy she left her family, that of being one with Christ. My heart goes out to her family, she's left a void but she's also left so much more. She knew that with faith and love, they will carry on after grieving to become ,once again, strong, confident and happy in God's love. Bless all of you. Donna from Ottawa

  5. So sad to hear of Kristen's passing and yet so thankful to the Lord for the victory won as she waits for her loved ones in heaven! I remember Kristen and her sisters at APA, watching them grow up into lovely young ladies. God be with her parents and with her husband and children, comforting and consoling them as they begin life's journey without this beautiful person at their side. ♥

Thank you so much for continuing to give us information about Kristin, her obituary and her funeral. I look forward to seeing the pictures and slideshow. Living in Ontario I was not able to attend her funeral but have thought of and prayed for her family many times these last few weeks. Praying God's strong and comforting arms will wrap around you all. Sincerely Jill (Wills) Broughton

  7. I have been going to church my whole life on and off.....I never really understood it...Until I started reading Kristin's blog. I never met her.....I never met Jesus....She changed me.....I get it !!! The light bulb went off.......Jesus changes people !!! She took me, a perfect stranger, along on her journey and daily shared her faith. As I started reading I realized this is what Christianity is all about......I have never known Jesus like I have in the past few months.....The day of her funeral a huge rainbow appeared over Chilliwack at about 2:10pm....It was amazing....I learned through Kristin that God speaks to us all the time....I looked at the rainbow and said "I HEAR YOU " !!!! Thank you family for sharing her with us strangers in blog land.....At a time when it would be completely natural to shut the world out, you let us in.....Forever grateful !!!!!! Shelley G.
