A Year Ago Today

A year ago today we surrounded Kristin's hospital bed in the ER where doctors told her she had a blood clot in her jugular. The doctors said that people don't survive this, and gave us very little hope. Kristin was very sick and very weak and she said to the doctor "My God is bigger than this" to which the doctor replied "Yes He is". Our family (as well as friends, church family & blog readers!!) surrounded her with love and prayer and she walked out of the hospital 11 days later!
We've had a year of peaks and valleys, made tons of memories together, laughed & loved.
Today we surround her bed and ask for another miracle! Our God is bigger than this!!

"But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed."
2 Corinthians 4:7-9

  2. Psalm 103:17-18 “But the lovingkindness of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s children, to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments.”

I am so glad to be able to talk to you through your blog. I miss the school hallway chats and the walking-by-waving! Your life, your faith, your integrity - this is a wonderful legacy you are building for your children and your children's children! Praying that you will, even this moment, be clearly aware of His loving kindness and tender mercies....

  8. We were deeply moved a few days ago when Kristin prayed for each of her children & husband individually. It was wonderful the way she embraced them with her tender love. We pray each morning for healing for Kristin, and strength for the family. Love, Art & Linda

  9. Romans 8:38-39
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. This scripture came to my mind as I read the blog today. Love Karen Smith Praying for Abundant Peace and Strength

  10. Praying. Praying. Praying. Always praying. This morning I realized even when my mind and body are busy, my heart is still praying for you. Then I received a card in my box at church that said "...without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers... Romans 1:9". From our family to yours, Kristin, we are ALWAYS praying for you.

  11. Ephesians 3:14-19 (Amplified Version)
For this reason [seeing the greatness of this plan by which you are built together in Christ], I bow my knees before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, For Whom every family in heaven and on earth is named [that Father from Whom all fatherhood takes its title and derives its name]. May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the Holy Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality]. May Christ through your faith dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth of it; That you may really come to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself!
