Hospital just called. Due to job action tomorrow my biopsy is today at 3:00. I am having a panic moment. I am scared. Nervous. Wimpy. Don't want to go to the hospital today. Was my day off. Scared. I'm sure it will be fine, I am praying peace and peace and peace. And the radiologist said it was a small shadow so I am claiming victory and no cancer. And I am asking you, again, still, always... Please pray.
Mom is here. Shawn is on his way from work. I'm scared.
Grateful for silver linings, one of which is how family and friends are gathering around us in prayer and with offers of support. Cancer is a lot of hard things. It is already proving to be a lot of connecting with loved ones and strengthening of relationships and that is so, so good.

ReplyDeleteYou don't know me but I am in a Care Group with Erika and know Alanna because I'm a youth leader at Northview. My Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in November of 2005. Praise the Lord she has been cancer free for almost 5 years now. All that to say that yes, cancer is horrific but God is BIGGER! He holds you in His hands! I know He has brought an amazing support system around you! It is filled with people who love you and are praying for you constantly. That was essential to my mom's fight. God has our whole lives mapped out and He is driving you down the path that has been specifically chosen for YOU! Usually we do not understand why God has picked us for our journey but He has. He knows what He is doing. God is driving the Kristin bus down your road of life. Through all of life's twists and turns, smooth newly paved sections and stretches of major potholes, God is in control and you are just along for the ride. He promises to never give us anything we cannot handle with His help! From reading your blog a couple nights ago, I can see God working in your life through your cancer. All I have to do is look at your God-given sense of peace. He is with you! He will NEVER leave you! I know its hard but lean on Him and your family and friends! I've heard it said that it takes a village to raise a child... I think we need that village for every stage of life! God gave us a desire and a need for community to support one another and remind each other to trust in the One Who cares for us all! I'm praying for you Kristin! May the Lord our God grant you peace that only He can provide! May He continue to bring people into your life to help show you that He cares for you! I know you are scared and that's completely normal but remember that God goes before you. He is already there with the biopsy results and has the next step and the next step and the next step and the next step all planned out for you. All you have to do is keep going down YOUR road WITH Him!
